SNOW IS ON IT'S WAY TO NEW ENGLAND!!!!

Writer: Jack McGuirkJack McGuirk

It’s week three of the new blog! Are you liking it so far? I sure am enjoying writing my thoughts out.

It’s shaping up to be a great day weekend in New England, it seems as though the snow gods have listened and we are about to get absolutely DUMPED on this weekend! I was able to get out last weekend and it felt amazing to be back on snow shredding the gnar. I was also the 17th chair ride up the new Tecumseh Express at Waterville Valley, which is pretty sweet. Built by MND Ropeways, it’s a six passenger bubble lift; the first of its kind in North America designed specifically for Waterville’s winter weather. And the chairs - they are incredibly comfortable. I also got to meet up and chat with my friend Tim from Ski Rex Media. For those who don’t know, I was on his podcast earlier this year.

That's my bro.

Anyways, the mountains are starting to drop ropes left and right and the terrain is opening at such a fast pace it’s hard to keep up with all the announcements. I have one piece of advice I’d like to offer. Check your local mountains snow report before you head to the hill. Weather can be pretty unpredictable (especially in the northeast). I’ve already felt the effect of lift holds and delays… and I’ve only skied once this season.

I want to let everyone know that my Mountain Stories project is starting to take shape and I should be dropping a logo soon. I’m not sure when but I hope you stay at the edge of your seat for an announcement. Since I work a Monday-Friday job, it’s difficult to get out during the week to film and I don’t want to spend my entire weekend day trip filming so there is the possibility that this idea changes up a bit. So stay tuned.

I’ll begin to start writing ski day reviews once more trails open up and more lifts start spinning. It’s tough to write honestly when there are only a few runs open. With all of this said, I hope you get out this weekend and enjoy some early season pow and don’t let the weekend crowds keep you away from the hill. Get out there and enjoy every second of it. I know I will.
